  • Total crap. Anyone who eats on a regular basis, or lives paycheck to paycheck knows that a box of hamburger helper and a pound of hamburger is cheaper than a "Better for you" meal. Fresh vegetables and fruit are, and have been at premium prices for some time.

  • exactly...cigarettes is a specific tax. If you don't buy them you don't pay the tax. But who will define fast food? or what is excessive? I eat more than my friend and I love junk food - but I am not fat - he IS. So taxing the food that I love means i'm paying more because HE got fat.

  • what we need to do is ostracize the fat people......after all it is their choice right? How about non-fat people areas and not hiring fat people. Lets raise their rates for insurance and life...........
